Interesting Y-The Last Man review

It has some spoilers. Among other things the author argues that the book is in large part an exploration of masculinity. Also, that it puts Yorick in the position of the weak but clever and frequently kidnapped character. A role pretty consistently reserved for females.

Also, I finished Privilege of the Sword a bit back. I enjoyed it, although the ending had definite problems. It could work (sans epilogue) as an ending leading into a sequel. However, there isn't a sequel that follows it immediately in the time line. It kind of reminds me of the classical pyramid dramatic structure. Rising action, peak in the third act, and then decline over the last two acts.
